Darrell Atkinson : Darrell has been in the construction industry since 1978. Darrell is not only the sole proprietor, but also serves as Project Manger overseeing all superintendents and Quality Control. He has realized municipal, multi-family and single-family residential projects. Also, commercial projects, namely fast food franchises in Texas , Louisiana , Mississippi , Georgia , Florida , Arkansas , Oklahoma and New Mexico . His expertise is in construction of fast food restaurants. Having directly managed the construction of many restaurants provides him with unique insight and allows him to complete projects on schedule. Darrell is presently the President of the company and is also accountable for the onsite construction aspects of projects and provides support to related departments.

Martin Hill : Martin has been in the construction industry since 1978. He holds a degree in Construction Building Inspections from University of California - Irvine . He joined Atkinson & Associates Builders is June of 1996. His management of our estimating and purchasing has helped maintain growth and keep abreast of our competitive market. Martin is presently the Vice-President of Construction and is accountable for the construction aspects of the projects and also provides support to related departments.

Lisa Spring : Lisa has been in construction since 1988. She attended Wharton County Junior College where she studied Drafting. Lisa has been a member of our team since July of 1990. Her duties include contract administration, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, accounts payable, sales tax and advertising. Lisa is presently the Corporate Treasurer and plays an essential support role to the growth of our business.

Karen Leita : Karen studied business accounting at Barnes Business College in Denver, CO.  She has been in the industry since 1986 providing administrative support in the field and accounting areas. Karen currently provides accounts payable support and fills other support roles as required.

Shelton Grona : Shelton started with us in January 2003. Shelton has been involved in the construction industry since 1987. Shelton graduated for Texas A & M University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He received his Professional Engineer’s license in February 2001. Shelton is currently a Project manager for various projects. Shelton ’s skill set allows him to be an asset to the client in the early developmental stages of the project and provides essential support through project closure.

Steve Blanchard : Steve has been involved in the construction and design industry since 1981. He holds a degree in Drafting Technology from Wharton County Junior College and a degree in Industrial Technology from Sam Houston State University . He joined Atkinson and Associates in December of 1998 as an estimator. Recently Steve has been promoted to Assistant Project Manager responsible for ensuring the estimating, purchasing and day to day construction activities are being effectively accomplished. Steve is also presently the Corporate Secretary.

Wesley Atkinson : Wesley has been involved in the construction industry since 1978.He received an Associate’s degree in building construction from Texas State Technical Institute Waco in 1985. He has been employed with us since 1999 and has supervised multiple residential and commercial projects. Currently Wesley is providing support as an Assistant Project Manager.

Tammy Atkinson : Tammy has been with us since May 1998. She currently handles due diligence research which includes investigation of access, utilities, easements, zoning, platting, and plan submittal requirements for permits through all city, county or state entities. She partakes in Planning and Zoning, City Council and other regulatory agency meetings required on behalf of our client for approvals and permits. She also establishes utility accounts and coordinates the construction of utilities for the site. She is very familiar with the municipalities of various cities throughout the state. Tammy is a valuable asset during site selection in the early development stages of the project.

Our company currently employs eight superintendents that are each well versed in all facets of the construction industry. It is their dedication and efforts that assists in promoting us to be one of the best general contracting firms in the area. We thank each and every one for their efforts and we also thank their families for being supportive in the many days and nights these folks are away from home.

We also employ additional construction personnell as well, who we also thank for their long hours and dedication as well as their families.
